  • Uses only 3 pantry ingredients!

If you’re like me, then you’re always looking for clean ingredients and natural skincare products that work! Tick, tick, this checks all the boxes. Natural skincare doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive.

This mask recipe is such a great way to use up all that extra, leftover pumpkin this autumn. You can use raw pumpkin or canned. I use canned pumpkin since it’s much easier to work with.

Ingredients in Pumpkin Honey Face Mask

PUMPKIN

Well, duh…This is the key ingredient in my pumpkin honey face mask. Pumpkins are loaded with amazing vitamins like vitamin A, C, and E. Vitamin A is a wrinkle-fighting superhero and vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that boosts collagen and plumps up the skin. Moreover, the naturally occurring vitamin E can help reduce UV damage in the skin.

But the most important thing that makes pumpkin a powerful and desirable ingredient in skincare is its exfoliation properties.

You see, pumpkins contain natural enzymes that provide enzymatic exfoliation to help smooth the skin’s surface and exfoliate dead cells. Pumpkin also naturally contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) that gently peel to help reveal younger, radiant-looking skin.

HONEY

Honey is a magical healing potion that has been used in medicine and skin care for ages. Honey’s magic comes from its natural healing properties and antioxidants. This golden elixir is an antibacterial agent making it a powerful acne fighter. Adding honey to this mask recipe adds a great texture, lovely scent and helps boost the benefits of the pumpkin.

TURMERIC POWDER

The third ingredient in this mask is Turmeric powder. This golden power is best known for its anti-inflammatory components which can reduce redness and irritation. The high vitamin C content in turmeric also brightens skin, boosts collagen production, and reduces free radical damage.

How Often to Use this Mask?

This mask contains natural enzymes, and Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) so start with 1 time a week to acclimate your skin. If you have sensitive skin, always do a patch test on your arm first. Also, this is an active mask which means mild tingling is normal.
