I’ve been using this hair rinse a lot lately because my hair is color-treated. Plus with the weather change from winter to spring, I felt like my hair and scalp needed an overhaul.
This rosemary and apple cider vinegar hair rinse is just the thing to get my hair back to a healthy state.
Reasons to try this hair rinse
Try this rosemary and apple cider vinegar hair rinse if…
Your hair has a lot of product buildup and residue
The hair is brittle and damaged
Your scalp is flaky or itchy
Hair is dull and lack-luster
Your hair is thinning
Why make your own hair rinse
Most commercial shampoos, conditioners, and hair treatments promise to solve all of your hair problems but they are often expensive and filled with hundreds of chemicals, sulfates, and parabens. They create the illusion of silky, shiny hair but in the long run, just add to the damage.
Most of these products also strip the natural oils from your hair and dry out your scalp. No thanks!
I love this hair rinse because…
This rinse is so so so good for your hair. It features two ingredients that feed nutrition into your hair and scalp. The more I use it, the more I notice how shiny, silky and healthy my hair is. My scalp also feels refreshed and flake-free.
The star ingredient of course is rosemary. Rosemary smells so herbaceous and fresh. It’s been around forever in the Mediterranean and is believed that Mediterranean women used rosemary in different preparations for their long, gorgeous hair.
I’ve combined this rinse with raw apple cider vinegar because AVC is where it’s at for shiny, silky hair! You need AVC in your haircare routine as of yesterday!
Note: make sure to use unfiltered, raw apple cider vinegar that contains the mother culture like this one! Very important.
AVC makes hair shine! Combining rosemary with apple cider vinegar in this hair rinse is just a match made in heaven.
Let’s talk benefits…
Here are some key benefits of rosemary for your hair:
Promotes hair growth
Soothes itchy scalp
Reduces excess oiliness
Makes hair silky and shiny
Removes flakes and dandruff
Here are some key benefits of apple cider vinegar for your hair:
Clarifies and removes styling product residue
Detangles hair
Adds shine
Doesn’t strip hair’s natural oils
Balances scalp’s natural PH
Revitalizes hair
There are so many ways to use rosemary and apple cider vinegar in your haircare routine but the easiest way that I have found is by making this DIY hair rinse.
Check out this easy recipe below.
How to use rosemary and apple cider vinegar hair rinse
Wash your hair with your regular shampoo as usual. Squeeze out the excess water from your hair. Squeeze or spray the rinse all over your hair focusing on the roots and scalp section by section. Leave the mixture in your hair for about 15 mins or longer. You can shave or do a body scrub while you wait.
YESSSS This literally sounds like exactly what my hair needs!!! I was just watching Queer Eye (if you haven’t atched – go now its adorable). And the mchecked my shampoo – it’s Aveeno) and the ingredients are AWFUL. I’m literally getting the ingredients to make this ASAP can’t wait to try it out! TY<3
Thanks so much for reading! Yes, this hair treatment is really amazing. I know what you mean about checking ingredients for our beauty care items. There is soooo much junk in them sadly, 🙁
I don’t use a lot of product in my hair, well, none, really. But in the summer when we are in the pool almost every day my hair gets brittle. I’ll have to make some of this since it’s pool season here already and we are spending three weeks in Florida this summer so will probably be in the pool multiple times a day!
Thank you so so much for sharing this great recipe! My girls and I we all have the same problem with our shampoo: it builds up in our scalp and then it becomes itchy. This looks like the perfect remedy! I will give it a go this week!
Oooo I can only imagine the awesome benefits of vinegar on the hair! I take apple cider vinegar daily for health reasons. Never thought about making a hair rinse as well!
Wow! Great idea!! I need to try this!
